    • Be credible student advisors
    • Collect student input on relevant issues
    • Process collected student opinion
    • Effectively represent student opinion to the administration

    How to give input:

By actively participating in the various programs, your constructive ideas and opinions can be researched by SAC representatives to initiate change in the university through the proper methods.

Contribute by submitting your ideas online at Bright Ideas or through the Bright Idea boxes in various campus locations (WSC Information Desk, east entrance to the MARB, and the RB). Also give input through constructive and intuitive participation in Question and Answer sessions, Meet the Dean, and through involvement in surveys or focus groups.

    Student Advisory Council

The Student Advisory Council (SAC) is a representative body of students from  various groups which serves the BYU community by accurately representing student opinion to the administration, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions. The Council also reports the opinions and viewpoints of administration on current conditions to the students, enhancing their ability to understand campus policy. Some of the programs which enable students to voice their opinions in order to help the Council effectively represent the student opinion to the administration include Q&A’s, Bright Ideas, Meet the Dean, Campus Surveys, and Focus Groups.

    The Student Advisory Council Objectives:

The Student Advisory Council (SAC) fulfills much of BYUSA's role of advising the university administration. The 40-member council meets regularly in committees to research and discuss student issues and comprises student representatives of all colleges and major organizations at BYU. If you'd like to present proposals to university administrators and affect long-term change at BYU, come serve with Jessica and SAC.
