Please remember to cast your vote for one of the finalist pairs by 5pm on Friday, March 7. The Brigham Young University Student Service Association (BYUSA) was created in the mid 1980s, under the direction of then-BYU president Jeffery R. Holland. BYUSA is BYU’s official student association, with the student body president at its head. The association’s vision statement outlines that, “…the Student Service Association's vision is to be leaders centered on Jesus Christ, who contribute to the building of Zion communities which are united in heart and mind that there be no intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, or physically poor among us.” BYUSA Elections will take place March 3-7, 2008. Primary voting will run March 3-5, with two finalist pairs being announced at approximately 5:15 p.m. on March 5 in the WSC Terrace. Finals will run March 6-7, with the new BYUSA president and executive vice president being announced at approximately 5:15 p.m. on March 7 in the WSC Terrace. Please vote twice, once during primaries and once during finals, online on Route Y, by clicking on “Student Voting” under the Communications menu. Additional voting stations will be set up in the WSC Terrace throughout the week of elections. Area vice president applications are due March 12 at 5:00 p.m. in the BYUSA Office (3400 WSC). Executive director applications will be accepted beginning March 19 in the BYUSA Office, and interviews will be held on a rolling basis.
